Patients should call to pre-register up to two weeks in advance for any scheduled surgery and out-patient appointment including most diagnostic tests, lab work and pre-operative testing. This eliminates the need to wait for an admissions representative upon arrival. Patients can go directly to their point of service. Admissions representatives are available to take calls from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Breast Center

At Milford Regional we have a highly experienced team of professionals in diagnostic imaging, pathology, surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, physical therapy and nursing. While Milford Regional has had these separate specialties caring for breast diseases for years, the mission of The Breast Center is to unify these resources under the guidance of a Medical Director to ensure patients receive the very highest standards of care.

Our Breast Center model includes:

  • Awareness of the Best Practice standards
  • Twice-monthly interdisciplinary breast conferences
  • Internal quality and outcome studies
  • Clinical trials and surveillance
  • Continuing education

Our Team Takes it Personally

The number one priority for The Breast Center is a uniquely personal commitment to each patient. The Breast Center team meet regularly to actively engage in each patient's case, putting best practices in place to coordinate care and bring each patient back to breast health. This thorough team effort results in more expedient diagnosis and treatment as well as greater patient comfort and confidence.

One of the key players at the Breast Center is our Nurse Navigator who serves as a continuous liaison between the patients and all of the Breast Center services. She is also the point of contact for all of the providers and navigates each patient through their entire experience at the Breast Center.

Already a Leader in Cancer Care

Breast concerns involve much more than cancer alone. When they do require oncology care, our close partnership with Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center offers the best medical oncology and radiation therapy right on our campus.

Together, the team’s goal is to provide breast patients with the most comprehensive, streamlined care available. The Breast Center at Milford Regional Medical Center received a full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Our Breast Center was one of the first nationally accredited centers in Massachusetts.

Accreditation is only given to those centers that have committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. A breast center must demonstrate compliance with standards established by the NAPBC for treating women who are diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease. The standards include proficiency in the areas of center leadership, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement.
