Personally Speaking

I was always attracted to caring for patients who were struggling with important issues that had the potential to be life-altering and that needed serious attention.  I find it meaningful to be able to educate and help patients through a cancer or blood disorder diagnosis.

Open communication and effective education about the disease and treatment options has always been the cornerstone to caring for patients.  I always strive to find ways for patients to understand their disease in the context of their own lives, and help come up with a treatment plan that fits with their own goals and priorities.

I am always sensitive towards the specific needs and life circumstances of each of my patients.  I also try and connect my patients with the academic community as part of my dual role at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and Milford, and constantly search to ensure my patients are getting access to cutting edge medicine and clinical trials.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young kids at home. When we get a moment, I try to grab dinner with friends and see live music, hike, exercise, and travel to see my extended family in Chicago or outings in the greater New England area.
