Paul Kenyan Jr., MD

Internal Medicine, Hospitalists

Personally Speaking

I practice hospital medicine to help guide patients and families through the complex medical decision making that comes with severe illness requiring hospitalization. Hospitals are as utilized as they have ever been, and people are living longer and the choices in medicine, surgery, and goals of care are becoming more and more plentiful. It is my privilege to help my patients through the process of deciding what is most important to them, and how it can best be achieved.

My approach to care is patient centered and my greatest strength is my communication.  I speak openly and honestly and I want to know what a patient wants out of coming to the hospital. Everybody wants to feel better, but with modern medicine there are many avenues to choose from.  I try to break these down so my patients can understand them as best they can, so they are as well informed as possible when making decisions, which are often life changing.

I am married to my beautiful wife and we have two young sons who keep us busy. I also like to play golf, travel, and spend time outside with my family walking and experiencing everything New England has to offer.

My hospitalist, Dr. P. Kenyan, was the best doctor I have had!! I wish…he could be my PCP! He's extremely knowledgeable, great bedside manner, didn't make me feel he was rushing out. He really took the time to explain everything …. You can tell he really cares about his patients, wants to help them - no matter how many questions I had. He is definitely an asset to the hospital… Dr. Kenyan is 5++++ doctor!!

There was a doctor, Dr. Kenyan, he was very nice and I would like him as a PCP... Also there was a nurse, her name was Alicia. I do not know her last name but she works on the first floor and I think she works 7-3, but I had her four or five times and I really enjoyed her.
