PLEASE NOTE:

Full payment must be received prior to the first class.  Registrations will be accepted after the session has begun, but will not be pro-rated for missed classes. 

Cancellations must be received at least three business days before the session begins in order to receive a full refund.  Once the session begins, there will be no refunds for any reason.

20-20-20

Get your twenty minutes of abs, twenty minutes of cardio and twenty minutes of strength training in ONE class. This workout targets the three key components to fitness.  All fitness levels are welcome.  Please bring a matt and towel.

CSI: Cardio-Strength Integration

This fun, one-hour class, will meet twice each week for 10 weeks and is appropriate for all fitness levels…even the first-time exerciser!   It will help you improve cardiovascular fitness, build stronger bones, and become more functionally fit. The class is led by A.C.E. (American Council on Exercise) certified instructor, Christine Bositis who has a wealth of experience in the fitness industry.  She will motivate and inspire you to start (or continue) your journey to better health.  Please bring hand-held weights: 1, 2, 3 or 5 lbs and a mat.

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini yoga is a powerful combination of stretching, exercise, chanting, breathwork, meditation and relaxation, which works the entire mind/body system. The exercises are designed to tune up the physical body, the breath to balance the emotions and the sound work to break negative thought patterns. This ten-week course is taught by a certified Yoga instructor. Please bring a towel or mat and wear loose, comfortable clothing.

The Whitinsville Yoga classes are limited to 12 participants.

Mind-Body Fusion

Mind Body Fusion is a combination of Yoga, Pilates and Qi Gong Tai-Chi. The three disciplines utilize the breath to strengthen the mind body connection. This workout will increase strength, balance, flexibility and overall wellness.

Pilates Essentials Mat Class

Pilates is a unique form of exercise that focuses on core stability while using controlled movement to condition the whole body. Emphasis is placed on breath awareness, while maintaining a dynamic flow of movement around a stable spine. Pilates is designed to restore balance and improve control of your body both mentally and physically. The repertoire consists of exercises that promote elongated and toned muscles, while emphasizing the body's core through stabilization of the pelvis, ribcage and shoulder girdle. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. A towel or mat can be used if desired.

Qi Gong and T’ai Chi Combo Class

Qi Gong and T’ai Chi are both systems for fostering health and peace of mind by releasing and taking in fresh energy (called qi) through a sequence of slow moving, dance-like- martial–art postures.  You will cultivate an awareness of breath with movement thus connecting your body/mind and strengthening the immune system.  This connection provides a basis for a stress management program and a method for releasing daily tension.  You will learn a Yang Style t’ai chi short form and 6 healing qi gong movements.  Please wear comfortable clothes and a sturdy, comfortable shoes or sneakers.

Spirit of Meditation

It is said, “where the mind goes, the body follows” meaning if the mind is frantic with thoughts and a “to-do-list” the body will follow and become frantic, stressed and over time, be susceptible to disease.  Enter the practice of Meditation! Join us at this class and cultivate the practice of coming home to self by staying present while sitting, breathing and walking mindfully.  You will learn guided meditation, visualization of positive images and mantras (words) for health and well-being.  You will learn the art of mindfulness though music, art and journaling.  Please bring  sketch book or journal and a pen.  Wear comfortable clothes.  You may bring a floor mat, but it is optional.

Therapeutic Yoga for Back Care

Do you have chronic back pain? Research shows that yoga can offer self management and pain relief through its focus on stretching, strengthening and breathing techniques. The class is taught by a licensed Physical Therapist who is also a certified Yoga Instructor. Please dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water. This course is not applicable for those with high levels of acute back pain.

Total Body Band Workout

Are you looking to add some variety to your workout? Well this 60 minute resistance band workout will strengthen & elongate your muscles.  It's easy on the joints and will increase your flexibility. Band exercises are controlled movements that keep constant tension of the muscle.  Bands have endless versatility and we will be doing some different exercises during each class. Done right, you can expect endurance and stamina to increase which results in improved cardiovascular health.  Bands are provided, but please bring a matt & towel. All fitness levels are welcome to join!

Yo-Chi

Yo-Chi is a fusion of yoga and qigong t'ai chi. This combination promotes circulation, strength, balance and flexibility. Enhanced circulation reduces inflammation and promotes healing. This is primarily a restorative class that will add to the quality of your life. It is user friendly and no previous experience in yoga or t'ai chi is needed.

Yogalates

Zumba

Zumba® is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class that fuses Latin and international music and movements to create a dynamic workout that is fun and easy to do! Anyone can participate. The classes are designed for all levels and ages of participants; for dancers and non-dancers alike. You don’t have to be a dancer to enjoy Zumba®, you just have to have a great attitude and willingness to have fun. This ten-week course is taught by a certified instructor.
