Dr. Brian DowneyBrian Downey, MD, cardiologist, was recently named one of the “Most Influential Doctors” by USA TODAY. This physician list was created by the medical information firm, Qforma. All physicians were selected based on a set of criteria that Qforma determined best measured their ability to influence healthcare. The criteria included academic achievements and medical partnerships, research study involvement, books and articles published, among other data. Dr. Downey was chosen for his work in treating patients with hypertension.

In addition, Dr. Downey received the “Frederick J. McCready, MD Teacher of the Year Award”. Each year Fallon Clinic recognizes excellence and extraordinary effort among its more than 250 physicians in Central Massachusetts. Dr. Downey practices cardiology at the Fallon Clinic in Milford and Worcester.

Dr. Downey is a member of Milford Regional Medical Center’s growing cardiovascular department which includes a new state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab that opened last fall. “Dr. Downey is to be commended for his outstanding patient care,” says Edward J. Kelly, president, Milford Regional Medical Center. “We are so fortunate to have such a high caliber cardiologist serving our community.”
