The Rockett Family of Physicians Receives Leaders in Quality Award
General surgeon William Rockett, MD, along with his father, Francis Rockett, MD; mother, Barbara Rockett, MD; brother, Sean Rockett, MD; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Rockett, MD recently received the Rx for Excellence Leaders in Quality award from the Massachusetts Medical Law Report. This publication covers the legal issues important to medical professionals throughout Massachusetts. It focuses on risk management and regulatory compliance for health care professionals.
The Rocketts were nominated as a family for the many contributions they have made to the medical community. The Leaders in Quality award is given to healthcare professionals whose unique efforts have helped advance safety, quality, and risk management for patients in Massachusetts. William Rockett, MD is on the active medical staff at Milford Regional Medical Center and is a general surgeon practicing at UMass Memorial Surgery at Milford. When asked what his proudest achievement has been, William Rockett responded, “The first time I operated with my parents was my proudest achievement.”
William’s mother, Barbara Rockett, MD, also a general surgeon, practices with her husband Francis who is a neurosurgeon. Both Barbara and Francis have held many leadership roles in the medical community including serving as President of the Massachusetts Medical Society; Barbara in 1986 and Francis in 2000. Sean Rockett, MD is an orthopedic surgeon and his wife Rhonda is a family medicine physician.
