Financial Assistance Plain Language Summary
If you live in Massachusetts, you may be able to get health insurance or help paying your health care bills through a state program such as MassHealth, the Health Connector or Health Safety Net. Each program has different rules and income limits.
To find out more and/or apply, go to www.MAhealthconnector.org or contact us for help.
If you do not have insurance, or your health insurance did not cover all your bill, you may qualify for a discount. A paper application along with supporting documentation may be required. There are two types of discounts:
1. If your bills are for an emergency or medically necessary care, then you may be able to get a 55% to 100% discount if you do not qualify for any state programs. The discount amount will depend on your household income. If you qualify, you will not pay more than 45% of the total charges you owe. We update this amount each year. You have 240 days to apply for this once you receive a statement. If you do not qualify for financial assistance, you may contact the Patient Financial Service Department 508-473-1190 #8, to discuss other options that may be available such as a payment plan.
Discounts apply to your hospital bill only.
