Vascular Access

For patients who require intravenous (IV) access for periods of time longer than seven to 10 days, a vascular access catheter will be inserted in the body. Insertion of this type of tube allows the simple and painless delivery of drugs and/or nutrients and the drawing of blood. It also spares the patient from the discomfort and stress of numerous needle pricks.

Your physician's office will schedule your appointment for your vascular access procedure.

If you are having a vascular access procedure, you can learn more about how to prepare and what to expect at or speak with your physician.
