Milford Regional’s Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine
Expands in Whitinsville

Milford Regional is pleased to announce the expansion of our Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine services in Whitinsville. The renovated space has almost tripled their size from 2,000 to 5,500 square feet, allowing for a much larger gym with state-of-the-art exercise and rehabilitation equipment including a new Trazer. The Trazer is similar to a flight simulator for exercise; a kind of high tech video game connecting strength training and aerobic conditioning to the functional requirements of work and leisure activities. The expansion has also provided space for additional treatment rooms, the amount of room devoted to occupational therapy has doubled, and this location now offers speech therapy.

“Our therapists are highly skilled in manual therapy techniques and provide individualized care for each patient” says Barb Devecis, Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Supervisor at Whitinsville. Each patient is followed by one therapist from the beginning to the end of their therapy. This provides continuity of care which is important during each patient’s road to recovery.

“Our dedicated staff has many years of experience in rehabilitation and sports medicine” stated Edward J. Kelly, president, Milford Regional Medical Center. “With the additional space and equipment in Whitinsville, our therapists are now able to offer more programs and services for the community”.
