Vascular Access

For patients who require intravenous (IV) access for periods of time longer than seven to 10 days, a vascular access catheter will be inserted in the body. Insertion of this type of tube allows the simple and painless delivery of drugs and/or nutrients and the drawing of blood. It also spares the patient from the discomfort and stress of numerous needle pricks.
